Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!
Hello Panther Families,
My name is Idali Lopez and I am the proud principal of Palm Innovation Academy. As a BUSD mom, I am humbled to be the principal of our great school. I have four kids who attend Beaumont Unified schools. I am also a citizen of Beaumont who values our small-town, family-oriented community. In addition to my four kids, my husband and I were fortunate to add a Dalmatian to our family this summer. As a family, we enjoy movie nights at home and supporting our kids on the soccer field, cross country meets and track meets.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State LA and a Multiple Subject Credential with a Master of Arts from the University of Phoenix. I also have an Administrative Credential with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Concordia. I have been in education for more than eighteen years. I was an elementary school teacher, and a middle school Assistant Principal. I was also an elementary and a high school Program Specialist. As a Program Specialist, I focused on student achievement and providing teachers with professional development.
As we near the beginning of the school year, please mark your calendars for a few key dates:
- Back to School Teacher Meet and Greet at 5:00 pm: August 10
- First Day of School: August 11
- Classroom Assignments Published on the Aeries Portal: August 9
- BUSD 2022-2023 School Year Calendar
Also, if you have not done so already, please fill out the Back-to-School Data Confirmations in the Aeries Parent Portal. You will have the opportunity to review and confirm all your student's information, enter any missing information, and read the updated annual parents' rights and responsibilities for the 2022-23 school year. Here is a link to assist with Aeries. In addition, please ensure that you have filled out the Back To School Confirmation Form that was sent out via Parent Square from BUSD on July 25.
Furthermore, this year we are proud to announce that we are adding the Dual Language Immersion Program to our school. We are offering a Dual Language Immersion Kinder and TK class. As the students grow, the program will expand.
This year we will also be offering Second Chance Breakfast to the students who did not have an opportunity to eat during the before-school breakfast program. As a reminder, students may only eat one breakfast at school. They can either eat breakfast before school or during their morning recess. This will ensure that every student has an opportunity to eat breakfast daily.
More information will follow in the coming weeks, please monitor your Parent Square frequently.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 951 845-9579. I look forward to meeting all of the families and students. Go Panthers! Today a Panther, tomorrow a leader!
Have a great day,
